Clara Campoamor 8 reales (2022) (silver)

On the occasion of International Women's Day, and paying tribute to lawyer and politician Clara Campoamor, the Royal Mint is issuing a new silver collector coin dedicated to a woman who championed equality, freedom, and progress and fought for women's right to vote.

The obverse features a portrait of His Majesty King Felipe VI.

The reverse of the coin features an image of Clara Campoamor at a political rally held on April 5, 1931, at the "Urumea" fronton in San Sebastián (Kutxateka/Fondo Photo Carte/Ricardo Martín); to her left, the symbol of women and, in capital letters, the legends EQUALITY, FREEDOM, and PROGRESS.
